'''Kone''' is a Finnish elevator company. In Australia, Kone begun operations after acquiring [[Elevators Pty. Ltd.]], an Australian elevator company.

==History==
In 1986, Kone acquired EPL, in order to enter the Australian elevator market. The EPL brand would continue to be operated for four more years, until in 1990, when it was dropped; the company would go by the name Kone from then on. Despite this, the EPL legacy was still apparent for many more years; the TMS installs that Kone Australia installed were built on EPL platforms and continued to use the same lift engineers. Additionally, EPL's last fixture design was utilised until about 2005.

During the early 2000s, Australia was an early adopter for Kone's new EcoDisc revision, the MX 20. It would later receive a worldwide release in 2005. At this time, all EPL designs were discontinued, and designs were harmonised with Kone worldwide designs such as the [[Kone MonoSpace|MonoSpace]].

During the KSS and KDS era, Australia initially received adapted KSS fixtures, with a raised ring to comply with Australian standards. Beginning in 2008, this was switched over to adapted KDS 300, called KDS 300-AUS, instead. The last major KSS install was the [[2009 Kone TranSys MRL traction elevator at Mount Ommaney Shopping Centre]].

==Products==
Kone's hallmark design is the EcoDisc, a slim hoisting motor largely designed for MRLs but can be adapted for the motor room as well. All new Kone lifts use it.
